Emelie, seventeen years old, was about to take over the world.

For most seventeen year old girls, taking over the world was not an easy task. For most humans, period, taking over the world was no easy task.

But in that statement, in that thought, Emelie found her inspiration. She, an entirely normal seventeen-year old girl, had absolutely no hopes of taking over the world on her own. Almost no matter how many people she enlisted to aid her, taking over the world would most likely still pose some difficulties.

Almost no matter how many people, how many humans she had at her side… so, maybe taking over the world wasn’t all that hard after all. Emelie had thought about it long and hard. Puzzled day and night over what might suit her purposes best. Some kind of machine? Or an animal?

But no matter how much she thought about it, no matter how much she searched, nothing truly seemed like it would help her. Like it would be good enough.

Until, exactly one year ago, she had happened upon a certain tome.

It had been old. Old and dusty, probably neglected for centuries. What it was doing…
